In episode three, Mark Seliger interviews Matthew Modine and Martin Schoeller. Starting off with Martin Schoeller, they look at an image that was on Time Magazine. The image is of a woman breastfeeding a child (aged around 4years old). They were saying how breastfeedings has become a huge impact on todays society and can be viewd as pornographic if displayed in public. As soon as i heard that i thought it was true, and for Schoeller to have the guts to put it on the front of Time Magazine he didnt care or was trying to make a point. If i was to see that image on a magazine cover i would probably be attracted to it because of the fact that many people are against the idea of breastfeeding in public.

As the conversation progresses Matthew Modine starts to talk about a film that he had directed; Full Metal Jacket. He talks about Stanley Cubic and how that he was taking images on set with his Roloflex camera however Stanley wanted him to buy a Minolta camera and certain lens'because they were better than what he already had. However, Modine preferred his first camer abecause he was Dyslexic and this camera function backwards, however maing it easier for Modine to use.

Seliger then goes onto talk to Schoeller about a shoot with Jack Nicholson. Schoeller didn't know how to have he image framed and he thought that Nicholson wouldn't be doing anything more than a simple pose, owever he was suprised when Nicholson came out wearing a red clown nose and pretended that nothing was there. Nicholson pushed about having his picture taken with the clown nose, however eventually Schoeller wanted an ordinary portrait and thats what he got.

Modine then goes on to talk about a film that he wantes to make about the Civil War in America. He talks about how you can make illusions whne filming with a camera to make it seem as if your in a different place to where you actually are.

Schoeller then talks about his bodybuilding collection. He talks bout how amazed he was that the human body could look like that and that woman should the the equality to have the same sized muscles as men, as we are all born with the same muscles. Modine joins in by stating that he feels that bodybuilders focus to much on their physical state and not their mental state which is unhealthy.

Schoeller then goes on to talk about various images that he took of comedians. He struggled to make theimages interesting at first as comedians in photographs are not that interesting, therefore he took the most boring objects and placed them with the comedians and made some excellent images. Then they go onto his Twin Collection. I liked looking at this collection because you were able to truly see the similarites and differences in a set of twins.

Overall i fout this episode interesting, however i found Martin Schoeller more interesting because i knew of him before i watched the episode.
